The Port Isabel Early College High School Athletic Department is gearing up for another successful year. We were blessed to have one of Tarpon’s own and former athletes, Raul “Tinker” Villarreal, speak to our coaches. Coach Tinker recently released his first book titled “Building Powerlifting Champions” and shared his experience of molding kids from various backgrounds and how he’s been successful in building winning cultures. The Tarpon and Lady Tarpon coaching staff want to extend their thanks to Coach Tinker for “bringing the juice” to our kick-off coach’s meeting.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open at Meet the Teacher during the mandatory parent meeting. We provide a reliable, welcoming, and safe landing space for your child to learn. PIISD ACE Program is offered to current Pre-K-12th grade students attending Point Isabel ISD. The College & Career Readiness Department proudly recognized students at Port Isabel ECHS during the inaugural 2024 Architecture & Construction Work-Based Learning Camp Completion Ceremony. Guided by Mr. Romeo Ruelas and supported by our Maintenance Department and Region One’s Perkins Innovation Modernization (PIM Grant), students gained hands-on experience through real-world projects, workshops, site visits, and career mentorship from industry professionals. This innovative camp exemplifies Point Isabel ISD’s commitment to advancing Career and Technical Education (CTE) and equipping students with the skills for future success.

🎉🎶 Big congratulations to our Port Isabel Junior High Symphonic Non-Varsity band, directed by Edgar Park, for placing 4th in the state concert category for 2C Non-Varsity in the Outstanding Performance Series Competition! This historic win marks the first year non-varsity junior high bands could enter this prestigious contest, and our talented students made their mark among hundreds of competitors.
