The College & Career Readiness Department hosted Maria Elena G. Ramirez, Program Manager at Workforce Solutions Cameron, at Port Isabel Junior High School. Career & Technical Education (CTE) and PLTW (Project Lead The Way) teachers participated in an engaging workshop, which provided valuable resources from Workforce Solutions, including career exploration activities, labor market data, and insights into in-demand industry sectors and occupations. The workshop also featured a presentation on integrating workforce data into instruction to enhance student career readiness. Point Isabel ISD is committed to equipping teachers and students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in Cameron County’s evolving job market.

The College & Career Readiness Department hosted the 2024-2025 Active Learning in Career & Technical Education (CTE) Planning & Staff Development. The agenda included a welcome and State of the Union address by the CCMR Director, followed by discussions on integrating active learning techniques and literacy in CTE classrooms. Teachers engaged deeply with their curriculum documents, explored innovative approaches to modernizing CTE spaces, and shared strategies to enhance student engagement. This workshop reflects Point Isabel ISD’s commitment to advancing Career and Technical Education (CTE) and equipping our educators with the tools they need to prepare our students for future success.
