Port Isabel Early College High School Student Receives Prestigious Recognition from Customs and Border Protection

Port Isabel, TXFebruary 25, 2024 – Port Isabel Early College High School proudly announces that Senior Juliana Leon has been selected as the Head of the Class (HOC) recipient from the Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security. This esteemed recognition marks Juliana's outstanding achievements and dedication to academic excellence and community service.

As an HOC recipient, Juliana is now eligible for the prestigious "Youth of the Year" Scholarship, an honor bestowed upon exemplary students who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

Juliana and her fellow HOC recipients for the 2023-2024 school year have shown exceptional promise and dedication to their academic pursuits. They are now eligible for the "Youth of the Year" Scholarship, which will be presented at the end of the school year. Selections for the scholarship will be determined based on essay submissions and HOC packets, highlighting the students' accomplishments and aspirations for the future.
